Blood donated with United Blood Services in Tupelo helps save the lives of patients in 22 hospital in North Mississippi and Northwest Alabama. It takes 125 donations ever day to meet the needs of area patients and to be ready for emergencies.
Running with the King 5K promotes awareness of the need for blood by encouraging participants to donate blood. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the run will be donated to United Blood Services.
If you, or a designee donate blood between May 14th and May 19th, your race registration fee will be waived.

Course
The 5K course starts near Fire Station #3 and the baseball fields located on Veteran's Boulevard in Tupelo. After running around the fast, flat block for the first mile, the course takes a couple of turns to run by Elvis' birthplace and the Tupelo Elvis Museum. After a couple more turns, the course joins the running path for an uphill through the woods in Veteran's park. Once you reach the top of the hill, it is a fast downhill on the path to finish back at the parking lot.
Plenty of free parking and bathroom facilities are available at the start/finish area.
Goodies
All entrants will receive a Festival/5K t-shirt and a goody bag. Please note that we cannot be responsible for shortages in some t-shirt sizes on race day.
Post Race Fun
Plan to stay after the run for all the fun. Enjoy listening to music while refueling with plenty of soft drinks, water, fruit, cookies and Elvis' favorite - peanut butter and 'nanner sandwiches.
